UNITE San Francisco Fashion Show-2/24/13

Words can not express how excited and happy I was for this Fashion show! I was a bit nervous and didn't know what to expect! As some of you know this was my first "gig" I have attended by helping out on Makeup! 
So this fashion show was based on the upcoming Spring and Summer Hair styles! UNITE is: "Under the direction of London-born Creative Director Andrew Dale, the UNITE Academy will teach you to break the rules of creative self-expression and enhance the technical ability that is key to your career. You'll surpass personal limitations with absolute style, precision, and creativity you didn't even know you had." 
I will post pictures up but just letting you know I did not have the best quality when I was backstage. The photographer did not show up:( so please bare with me!
It was a looooonnnggg day for me! The day of the show which was on Sunday I had to wake up extra early because I was out of town! left town by 7am ish and got to San Jose by 9:30am.. I had to leave the house by 10am because it took 45 minutes to get to the gig(call time was at 11am). I was super rushing but good thing I had my kit ready and prepared!

As I got to the show I was the first one to arrive and I had to call my supervisor to see if it was the right place because for a second I thought I was lost! When everyone was showing up I got superrr nervous for some reason! It was very intimidating seeing all of these people in suits with British accents(I love their accents!). I honestly did not know  I was working with amazing well known people until the show had started! 

There were 6 models and two MUAs which was me and another girl. I had three of them and she had the other three. In the pictures my models were in all black dresses.

 One of the Hair stylist, named Flech(the one with curly hair) had approached  myself and the other MUA with a magazine of the look he wanted us to create! He wanted more of the natural look(highlight inner corner.a little smoked out on the outer corner,nude lips, dark brows,and very contoured cheeks.) It was pretty simple to pull out and I loved each and ever model I had! 

I was to be there from 11am-1pm(MUAs may be dismissed at that time) It was super fun because my director/supervisor Daniel had asked me if I wanted to stay during the whole show and help out a little and I said YES of course! He had me help with the models when to tell them to enter the stage and help with them getting settled backstage!

It was such an amazing event! I am totally looking forward into other gigs coming soon! I have actually found what I really love to do and I am shooting higher and higher to achieve my dream! 

I encourage each and every one of you to shoot for your dreams! Yes I know people always say dreams come true and believe me they do! You just need to motivate yourself and have confidence! Get to meet new people and ask questions! Do not hesitate! The more questions you ask the more you get to know things and strive for the better! Don't wait for it to come to you, you have to go and get it!

That is what I learned...People will always be there to answer your questions, don't be shy,and never say you can't do it. Believe in yourself and you can do it! Never let someone doubt you or get into your head about anything. Surround yourself with positive and encouraging people!

I'm so proud to finally get to show my work not just on my face but now on other girls! I want to thank each model that was part of the photo shoot! I am sooo blessed and happy to have you guys there for me to help! I am extremely happy of the outcome of these photos! Julia did an amazing job! Each model had a different pop of color and I also decided to go with some colors that matched what they were wearing!all were different and I love them!!

Amazing Shoot! Makeup/Portfolio 1-4-12

I am soooo lagging on posting things on my blogsite lately but I know for sure that I will be using this often from now I promise you! I have some huge Updates coming your way! ONE: is that I am starting my Portfolio for MUA so that I can find something out there who will except me and my work! I will be needing more MODELS! TWO: is that I am currently in the move to San Jose, CA to pursue my dream as a MUA! I hope to find what I want there! There are so many job opportunities there and I am super happy to start meeting new people and to get to know the industry that I'll be working with! THREE: as for my youtube videos, I will still be making them but as of right now im on a pause because of the moving situation and the chaos and what not! but I hope to be filming soon!  That is it for my update as of right now!

The pictures that I will be posting up are some that I took from my phone. It might not be the best quality but Im too excited to not be posting anything up!

Last night I couldn't sleep.. sooo I decided to contact my great friend JULIA! She is a photographer in the city where I moved from. I was thinking on finding a photographer here in San Jose but it was going to take too long because I needed one ASAP. I thought of Julia because she needed models for her portfolio also which was the best match ever! I did not expect her to call me back the next day which was today! she said she had 5 girls with her that would be able to model for me! Thank goodness it was such a great timing!! She called me at 2ish pm. started around 4pm and didnt end till 8ishpm! I did the girls' Makeup and was going to do their hairs but it would have taken longer so Julia helped with their hairs and they all came out great!

I dont have all the pictures like I said the photographer has to look at them and edit! it will soon be up asap! I will probably make my blog more of a portfolio for now until I have my own website for them hehe!

 
Here is my amazing Katie! I gave her a yellow/gold look it's mainly the yellow! I wanted her look to pop out and to have a major dark smokey affect! I also double winged her liner to make it more unique!

 Next runner up is Amanda! she had amazing blue/gray eyes?! not quite sure! lol I wanted her eyes to stand out so I added green eye shadows to her eyes then I smoked that baby out!


 The Next girl is Amy! Truly a Model!!! she's 6 feet but with those 5 inch heels that's major!Im only 5'2-__- im s shorty so she makes me look even shorter!!! ohhh well! she's an amazing girl!
All of the girls got head shots. Im sooo excited to see them!!
 Chloe is the next gal! amazing model I have! I did her makeup and hair! she's also wearing my dress!! hehe I am soo happy I can be apart of this and love making my girls look even more beautiful!
 I did not get the last girl's full face or head shot on my phone but she's carly!! such a gorgeous girl! here are all the 5 girls that I worked on! ahhhh I'm loving each and everyone of them!

I would have never thought of myself loving makeup and being able to work with such wonderful girls. When I was younger as a teenager I was totally the opposite. I was not the best at makeup I only wore eyeliner and always pulled my hair back... but for some reason I started experiencing with makeup 2 years ago when I started making youtube videos. ever since then I LOVE playing and doing other people's makeup! I have been doing them for fun on people but now it's getting to the serious part! I am expanding on my kit and super excited to use all that I have in the bay area!
